We strongly encourage students to connect your Writable account to a Google or Microsoft account to make login easier and avoid duplicate accounts.

Connecting your Google account ensures that students can access assignments seamlessly, prevents issues like missing classwork, and enables proper integration with Google Classroom.

During their first login to Writable from HMH Ed or an LMS, students will be prompted to connect an account. It's highly recommended to complete this step whenever prompted. If students encounter any trouble connecting their accounts during this step, troubleshooting steps may be required to resolve access issues.

Once an account has been established, students can login and connect a Google or Microsoft account using these directions.

  1. Log in to your Writable account using the typical login method (may be accessed through HMH Ed, or an LMS). Click the profile picture or account initials and click 'Account Details' in the dropdown.

  2. In Account Details, click the plus sign on the 'Connections'.

  3. Click 'Sign In with Google' or 'Sign in with Microsoft' and use the account that is connected with your district or school login. Click 'Done' once finished.
