Writable from HMH is a research-backed writing solution that supports the full writing process, from planning and drafting to feedback, review, revision, and reflection.
Writable includes HMH curriculum-aligned assignments to support your core instruction. Educators can provide targeted feedback to students, and scores roll up to school and district-level reporting to help inform instructional decisions.

Launching Writable from HMH Ed
❗️Note: Every user, including admins, teachers, and students, will need to launch into Writable from HMH Ed at least once to access HMH curriculum materials in Writable.
School and District administrators should log into HMH Ed using the following steps. Your administrator role should carry over into Writable as well.
Log in to your administrator account on HMH Ed. Navigate to the 'Discover' tab.
Select your program in the dropdown menu.
Navigate to 'Connected Solutions' and click the 'Writable' icon.
During your first login, you will be prompted to connect a Google or Microsoft account.
❗️It's highly recommended to complete this step when prompted. If you've logged into Writable previously, it's especially important to complete this step, as it will ensure linking to your existing Writable account.
Setting Up LMS Connections
In addition to HMH Ed, Writable connects with the following LMS platforms:
Writable's integration provides teachers with the ability to import their classes directly so students are automatically rostered and rosters can update in live time. It also allows teachers to assign Writable tasks directly to the students inside the LMS so students are familiar with where to find their writing assignments.
If your school or district uses multiple LMS systems (such as HMH Ed and Schoology) we strongly recommend to select a single rostering source and provide teachers with clear guidance to use only that LMS with Writable. This helps avoid issues with duplicate assignments and classes.

Sharing to My District
Administrators can publish assignments and rubrics to My District to keep teachers aligned around a common set of materials. Writing tasks, assignments, and rubrics can be shared to the entire district or specific grade levels, regions, or schools depending on your need.
One of the most effective ways to utilize My District is to create Shared Assessments. These assessments allow teachers to "join" and assign to their classes. Administrators and leaders can check on which teachers have assigned and their students progress. They can also check grading to help support teachers. Shared Assessments provide common data across grade levels or schools and enable leaders to see trends in proficiency and growth using Writable reports.

Administrator Abilities in Writable
Administrators will have the same dashboard view of Writable as teachers, but access to additional reports and information, as well as the ability to view license details and share to the My District collection.
