How do teachers use Writing Journals?

View a history of student writing across assignments in your class.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Teachers can use Writing Journals to view a student's writing in their class, giving them a perspective of how the student's writing has changed over time.

Note! Only student writing submitted in that class will be visible in the Writing Journal. Teachers will not be able to view writing from other classes at this time.

  1. In Writable, click 'Classes'.

  2. Click a class title to open the roster, and then click on a student's name.

Note: If a student's name is grayed out, they are inactive in the roster. If the student's name is in black and unclickable, the student has not submitted any writing yet for this class.

  3. The student's submitted writing for this class will be shown in the Writing Journal. Click on an assignment to open its details, including scores and feedback.
