Writable's AI Teaching Recommendations leverage generative AI and writing expertise to support you in introducing assignments, guiding revision, and more. Let's take a look at where to find these custom resources and how to incorporate them into your instruction.

Before Assigning

Once you have copied or created an assignment in Writable, you can find AI Teaching Recommendations on the Assignment Manage page.

  1. Click on an assignment from 'My Assignments'.

  2. Before you have assigned to any classes, the AI Recommendations will be on the Manage page.

  3. Click on a "View Recommendations" to see Pre-Teach insights.

  4. Review the selected objective and instructional focus, which is based on students' previous performance.

  5. View additional resources, including the full rubric, PD supports, exemplar writing and teaching scripts.

  6. Check out the Whole Class Mini Lesson suggestions.

  7. Lastly, you can click "Customize this lesson plan" at the bottom of the page to choose a different skill and instructional focus.

On the Assignment Dashboard

After you have assigned to your classes you can find the Teaching Recommendation on the Assignment Dashboard under the Pre-Teach tab.

When students start submitting their writing the Differentiate tab will generate lesson plans tailored to your students' performance.

  1. Click on an assignment from 'My Assignments' and then choose a class.

  2. On the 'Students' tab you will see Teaching Recommendations. The kickoff lesson plan will be available on the 'Pre-Teach' tab.

  3. Click 'Differentiate' to see a short summary of the skills your students need support with. Click "View lesson plan".
