Whether you're conducting a physical or remote meeting, Wudpecker's new MacOS app has you covered. It records audio directly from your system and microphone, ensuring comprehensive coverage of your meetings without any hassle.

Here’s why this app stands out:

  • It doesn't matter if your meeting is in person or virtual.

  • You can record an unlimited amount of meetings per month

  • No more AI bots interrupting your meetings

  • It lets you pause or discard the recording whenever you need

  • It works with all virtual meeting platforms

With the app, there's no need to worry about intrusive notetaker bots that accidentally join your confidential meetings. The app will only start recording when you tell it to.

You also don't have to worry if you're attending the meeting on a different account than what you're using on Wudpecker. As long as you're logged in on the Wudpecker desktop app, it records anything you want and generates the notes on your Wudpecker account in the browser.

How-to Guide

Setting up the app and your account

Step 1: Go to this page and press the download link, then open the installed file

Step 2: Drag and drop the downloaded Wudpecker file to the Applications folder

Step 3: Open the app from the Applications folder or by pressing Cmd + Space, then typing Wudpecker and pressing Enter. You might need to confirm to "Open" the app

Step 4: Press "Log in" to sing up or sign in to Wudpecker with your Microsoft or Google account (a browser tab will automatically open)

Using the app

Step 5: If it's not already open, go to the app from the Dock or by pressing Cmd + Space and typing "Wudpecker"

Step 6: Press Record

Step 7: Pause and continue the recording any time (⏸️), and cancel/discard (🗑️) the recording if your mind changes

Step 8: When you're done, remember to manually stop recording (⏹️)

Once you stop recording, Wudpecker automatically starts processing the notes and opens them for you in the browser.

For more actions such as logging out, navigate to the Mac menu bar at the top right.

Note: The MacOS app only works for Mac models earliest from 2018 or MacOS 13.0 and newer.

Good to know

How the meeting will be titled

The Mac app is able to detect your upcoming meeting's title from the calendar invite. If you see the title under the recording buttons and start recording, your notes will automatically be named according to the title.

On the other hand, if you start recording without seeing a meeting title in the app, the notes will be called "Live Meeting".

However, you can always manually edit any meeting notes' titles later on.
