Responsibilities

  • Liaise with department managers, supervisors, and front-line staff to obtain a thorough understanding of their requirements from the HR department.

  • Implement and develop effective documentation to oversee the workforce, including performance development plans, absence review documents, annual leave monitoring, and other related documents.

  • Work with management and supervisors to effectively conduct investigations and write warnings relating to such for management to give out when misconduct is identified.

  • Sit in on exit interviews and create termination letters as required.

  • Assist with the management of payroll and ensure it runs smoothly.

  • Listen to and counsel team members across the business and assist with any grievances they may raise.

  • Ensure that all management and supervisors follow the company’s grievance policy and act within the guidelines.

  • Deal with legal matters such as threats to sue, and threats of the tribunal from ex-employees or current employees.

  • Ensure that the company culture is built and managed in line with the business's goals and mission statements.

  • Oversee the new hire process and ensure all employee information is kept up to date on the ATS system.

  • Assist with pay queries where required.

  • Provide counsel to staff members and deescalate issues as quickly as possible.

  • Provide reports and presentations on the overall performance of the HR department.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business, or other related field, or equivalent work experience and education

  • Demonstrated experience working as an HR manager, Business Partner, or generalist role

  • Experience using recruitment databases and or ATS systems or other CRM software

  • Good knowledge and understanding of HR best practices and employment law

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Good organizational abilities and able to work to tight deadlines under pressure

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate

  • Able to work without supervision and independently research leading new technologies and methods

  • Proficient with all Microsoft packages including, Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Able to engage with people of all levels from directors to the front line staff

  • Solid understanding of employment law, grievance policies and procedures, and other HR-related policies
