Responsibilities

  • Teach children various subjects in line with the curriculum set out by the school district.

  • Monitor students' progress and identify where students need support in their learning.

  • Hold parent-teacher meetings on either a semi-annual or annual basis and break down children's performance and areas to be improved on for each child.

  • Attend teacher training as required.

  • Safeguard children and inform authorities if a child is suffering neglect or abuse.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or above in either general education, science, math, or English

    • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role

    • Strong knowledge of safeguarding guidelines

    • Ability to communicate with parents, children, and other teachers

    • Strong knowledge of the school district curriculum

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships

    • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail

    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize own workload
