Responsibilities

  • Create and develop lesson plans for each lesson.

  • Teach classes of up to 25 children, ranging from the ages of 12 years old to 18 years old.

  • Safeguard children by keeping a keen eye on them, and ensuring that anything untoward is reported to the head teacher or parents.

  • Help children to learn to resolve disputes effectively, by monitoring and managing their behavior towards each other.

  • Report any serious bullying allegations to the principal.

  • Keep notes of each child’s progress and write weekly or monthly reports on their progress for their parents.

  • Host and attend parent-teacher days, or evenings to meet with parents and provide detailed reports on their performance, and address any concerns.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in either English, Math, Science, or general education

    • Teaching certificate

    • Previous experience teaching older children

    • being specialized in one particular teaching subject would be an advantage

    • Must be able to pass an enhanced background check

    • Patient, kind, and friendly in nature

    • Excellent communication skills & problem-solving skills

    • Good report writing skills

    • Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Office
