Responsibilities
Conduct independent investigations into incoming leads of news reports and other sources.
Visit people with stories and notarise their witness accounts.
Fact checks incoming information for viability.
Visit scenes of breaking news, sometimes dangerous scenes, such as war-torn countries, adverse weather locations, etc.
Make notes/Dictaphone recordings of interactions with witnesses etc.
Produce effective live or pre-recorded reports summarising and ensuring key points and facts are conveyed.
Add or remove elements to stories or reports to make them more attractive to the desired audience.
Conduct independent research on all affairs, both internationally, locally, and nationally, to ensure current and up-to-date information is produced.
Travel as required to various stories and events happening in real-time

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in either journalism or communication or a similar field
Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
Strong research skills
Ability to communicate with the public effectively
Curious in nature, able to ask difficult questions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office platforms
Ability to multi-task and prioritize own workload
