Understand Consent, STOP, and Unsubscribes

Learn how SMS STOP, email unsubscribes, the preference center, and re-opt-in affect who Yada will message.

Yada will not send marketing to a guest who has opted out, been suppressed, or turned off that topic. Most delivery problems that look like a channel failure are actually consent.

SMS STOP

The first SMS campaign must include opt-out language such as Reply STOP to opt out. Yada blocks launch until that language is present. The campaign wizard can append it for you.

When a guest replies STOP or another carrier opt-out keyword, Yada records a hard unsubscribe for that sender and stops SMS marketing to that number. A guest can opt back in by sending START or UNSTOP. A casual "yes" to an offer is not an opt-in.

Email unsubscribe and preferences

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. That link opens a preference center where the guest can turn off some or all of these topics:

  • Stay Experience & Service Updates

  • Guest Support & Conversations

  • Personalized Offers & Upgrades

  • Promotions & Special Offers

  • Local Tips & Destination Content

  • Feedback, Surveys & Reviews

  • Loyalty, Rewards & News

A topic turned off blocks promotional email of that type. A full unsubscribe or email opt-out blocks marketing email entirely.

Check a contact before you send

Open the contact in Marketing → Contacts and review SMS, email, and WhatsApp eligibility, opt-out, and suppression. Use exclusion and suppression lists for people who must never be in a marketing audience, even if they have not formally unsubscribed.

If a message did not send

Check consent before you retry. Cooldowns, missing STOP language, and US WhatsApp marketing restrictions can also skip a recipient. See Troubleshoot a Message That Could Not Be Sent after you have confirmed the guest is still eligible.

Tip: Do not add opted-out contacts back to a list and resend. Restore access only after a clear START / UNSTOP or a new, documented opt-in.
