Creating a custom URL allows you to use your own subdomain as the URL for your prospect portal and member portal. This is accomplished by adding a CNAME record, defined below. This is especially useful when linking your prospect portal directly from your website to give the appearance that the visitor is still within the same domain.
This article covers the steps required to add your subdomain as the URL for your prospect and member portal.
NOTES:
CNAME, or a Canonical Name Record, is a type of resource record in the Domain Name System that maps one domain to another.
This process requires a registered domain that you have control over the DNS records for. For steps on adding or modifying records on your domain, reach out to your registrar or DNS service provider.
CAUTION: Custom CAA records may prevent domain redirection from working correctly in Kube. Kube uses Cloudflare for SSL certificates, which are issued by Let's Encrypt and Google; any CAA records must explicitly authorize these providers. Otherwise, you may need to remove the CAA records entirely to ensure proper functionality.
For details on configuring CAA records correctly for these vendors, see https://letsencrypt.org/docs/caa/#examples and https://pki.goog/faq/#caa.
Adding a CNAME
Select your Personal Profile in the top menu and select System Settings from the drop-down menu. The Operator Details screen appears.
Select Customer Portals in the side menu. The Websites Logo menu appears.
Select the URL Branding tab. Click on the edit button. Complete the fields.
For field descriptions, see the Custom URL Screen Reference at the end of this article.
Click Save.
TIP: A banner with the CNAME record appears. Provide this record to your DNS service provider.
NOTE: Depending on the propagation time of your DNS service provider, the record may take up to 2 hours to resolve. Reach out to your DNS service provider with any questions regarding the propagation time.
