Adding a company network setting

Updated over 4 months ago

A company’s network settings determine details about the company’s subnet and IP address ranges that its members and guests can use. After you contract a contract that contains data/Wi-Fi amenities, Kube creates a default network address for the company. You can edit this network address as needed to configure IP address ranges and DHCP settings, or you can add a new network address.

This article is part of the Kube data-Wi-Fi setup flow. For more information, see Kube setup checklist.

NOTES:

  • If your organization has not purchased Yardi Kube Wi-Fi, Kube does not show data/Wi-Fi information.

  • Depending on your assigned role and permissions, and the version of Kube your organization uses, some or all of these menus or services may not be available or displayed.

  • Only those familiar with adding a network address should complete this task. Contact your IT department or Yardi technical support if you are unsure of what you need to do

To add a company network setting

  1. Select Customers in the top menu and select Companies from the drop-down menu.

  2. Locate your company in the data grid and click the company's name. The Company Overview screen appears.

  3. Select Data/Wi-Fi in the side menu and select the Network Settings tab.

  4. Click the Add button.

  5. Click the Enabled and DHCP buttons to allow data entry. All fields show and allow data entry.

    1. Complete the fields. For field descriptions, see the Network Settings Screen Reference at the end of this article.

    2. Click Save.

  6. Click the Settings tab.

    1. From the DHCP Setting drop-down, select the DHCP setting that best suits your needs.

NOTE: Kube automatically completes the Subnet Mask, Broadcast Address, and Gateway Address DHCP settings.

You can complete the following DHCP settings:

      • Domain Name: Enter the alphanumeric name of the network your customers see.

      • DNS Server List: Enter the IP address of a specific DNS if the DNS provided by the Yardi router does not meet your company's needs.

      • WINS Server: Enter a local IP address that you want DNS to restrict online access for.

    2. In the Value field, enter data corresponding to the DHCP setting you chose.

    3. Click the Add button to add your DHCP setting.

TIP: The next step in the Kube data-Wi-Fi setup process is to add a company DHCP reservation. For more information, see Adding a company DHCP reservation.
