If a company has specific firewall needs, you can assign a private firewall to the company to allow them to use their own firewall and DHCP settings. When you assign a private firewall, you must select one port that serves as the company's inbound internet connection from Yardi Kube (WAN connection) and one port that serves as the company's internet connection into their firewall and network (LAN connection). If the company uses other ports, their firewall controls those ports after you complete the private firewall setup in Kube. After you save your changes, Kube automatically updates all LAN ports to private status. For more information about switch ports, see Editing switch port options.
This article is part of the Kube data-Wi-Fi setup flow. For more information, see Kube setup checklist.
NOTES:
If your organization has not purchased Yardi Kube Wi-Fi, Kube does not show data/Wi-Fi information.
Companies that request private firewalls often request a public IP as well. For more information, see Configuring a company's public IP address.
Only those familiar with firewall administration should complete this task. Contact your IT department or Yardi technical support if you are unsure about what you need to do.
