Coupons reduce the space and/or amenity prices of items included in a short-term booking that uses Pay Now or Bill Later payment methods. You can customize coupon settings to limit the properties a coupon can be used at, the type of items in the booking a coupon applies to, who can use a coupon and how many times, and how long a coupon is active. Users can only apply one coupon per each short-term booking they make. For more information, see Making a short-term booking.
When an internal user, member, or prospect applies a coupon to a short-term booking, Kube reduces the booking cost according to the percentage in the coupon's Discount Value field. When it adds charges after the booking is finalized, Kube adds one positive charge for the full price of the discounted item that uses the item's configured charge code and one negative charge for the discounted amount that uses the coupon's charge code. Together, the two charges equal the discounted price of the item. Kube includes tax in both the positive and negative charges, should tax be configured for the space and/or amenities.
When a coupon expires on the coupon's end date, Kube automatically archives it. You can also manually archive an active coupon to deactivate it before the coupon reaches its end date. Once archived, a coupon cannot be used or reactivated.
NOTE: If a member belongs to a booking discount group, Kube applies the coupon to the discounted price specified by the booking discount group. For more information, see Adding a booking discount group.
