Placing plants right against your house is possible, however, there is a limitation of plant selection.

If you are looking to plant along with your house, a good recommendation is shallow roots and light irrigation.

This should not cause foundational issues to your home and is a very common practice. If you live in a fire zone, it is generally discouraged to plant organic materials within three feet of the home.
