1) Instructions

  1. In Admin, go to Users → Members.

  2. Open the member’s profile. On the right side you’ll see their current subscription details.

  3. Click Update. A pop-up will open.

  4. In the pop-up:

    • Choose a new membership plan from the dropdown.

    • Select the billing cycle (Monthly or Annual).

    • Optionally, enter a promo code.

  5. Differences in plan value:

    • Downgrade: If new plan is lower value, the change takes effect at the next billing cycle.

    • Upgrade: If new plan is higher value, you’ll have the option to apply immediately (with prorated billing) or at the next billing cycle.

    • If you choose immediate upgrade, the system automatically calculates the prorated difference and issues an invoice.

  6. Click Update Subscription to confirm.

💡 Stripe issues an invoice showing the breakdown. Once paid, this transaction automatically appears in the member’s Payments tab in Admin.

FAQ

  • Can I pause someone’s membership?
Not at the moment. The system does not support pausing a membership; you’d need to cancel and then resubscribe later.

  • Can I downgrade a member immediately?
No — downgrades always take effect at the next billing cycle.

Tips for Admins

  • Before updating or cancelling a membership, review any upcoming invoices or special billing arrangements.

  • Use the “End of Current Period” cancellation option to avoid access disruption for members who have already paid for the period.

  • Communicate clearly with a member if you switch their plan (especially when downgrading) so they understand when the change takes effect.
