Overview
The Announcements section enables admins to broadcast important messages, updates, and reminders to members—either across a specific city or globally.
1. Viewing Existing Announcements
Go to the left-hand menu and select Announcements.
In the announcements list you’ll see key details:
City – the location(s) the announcement applies to.
Content – the message text.
Expiration Date – when the announcement will automatically cease to display.
Actions – options to edit or delete the announcement.
Use the Search bar for quick lookup by keyword.
Use the Expiration Date filter to view:
Active – announcements currently live.
Expired – announcements no longer visible to members.
2. Creating a New Announcement
In the Announcements screen, click New Announcement (typically top right).
Fill in the fields:
Content – The announcement text (e.g., “Holiday hours”, “Maintenance closure”, “New feature launch”).
Announcement URL (Optional) – A link directing members to additional details or external resources.
Global – Check this option if you want the announcement to appear across all cities.
City – If not global, select the specific city where the announcement should display.
Expiration Date – Choose the date (and optionally time) when the announcement should automatically stop appearing.
Click Submit to publish the announcement.
3. Editing or Deleting an Announcement
In the announcements list, locate the row and click the Actions (…) menu.
Options:
Edit – Update the content, city, expiration date, or link.
Delete – Remove the announcement permanently.
⚠ This action cannot be undone.
4. How Members See Announcements
Announcements display as banner messages at the top of the member app home screen.
If an Announcement URL is included, the banner becomes clickable and takes the member through to the linked page or resource.
5. Managing Notification Preferences
Note: Push notifications (lock screen banners, sounds) are separate from announcements and controlled at the device operating-system level.
On iOS: Go to Settings → Notifications → Your Mobile App → Allow Notifications (toggle off to stop alerts).
On Android: Go to Settings → Apps & notifications → Your Mobile App → Notifications (toggle off to stop alerts).
Admin Tips
Use Global for messages relevant to all locations (e.g., app maintenance, platform-wide policy changes).
Use City-specific announcements for local matters (e.g., venue closures, region-specific events).
Always include an Expiration Date so the message doesn’t overstay and clutter the member experience.
If linking externally, double-check that the Announcement URL is live and mobile-friendly.
Monitor the announcements list regularly and purge or update expired items to keep communication fresh and relevant.
