What is GetNudge?
GetNudge is a standalone application that helps retailers turn return data into clear, actionable product recommendations. It automatically generates nudges based on return reasons like "too large" or "too small" and allows you to publish them to your Shopify store as tags or metafields. The aim is to assist customers during their purchase decision process.
If you're not using Shopify, you can still export the nudges for manual use and manually update.
How GetNudge Works?
🔧 Basic Configuration
Set up two return reasons related to sizing (e.g. “Too small” or “Too big”).
Define the tag or metafield labels (e.g. “yayloh-size-up”) to be created in Shopify for size recommendations.
Add custom text for each tag or metafield based on the size-up or size-down logic.
🔍 Set thresholds and criteria to identify the products:
yayloh pre-selects products using smart filters based on your return volume data.
You can always adjust and refine these filters.
Use smart filters to identify key product groups:
New products with no existing tags
Products needing updated nudges based on recent return trends
Products where existing nudges still apply and no update is needed
🚀 Publish
Select and publish size nudges (as tags or metafields) in bulk with one action.
Name each publish event.
📊 Analyze
Track and analyze the impact of nudges on return rates via the Analysis page.
Best Practices
Prioritize High-Return Products: Focus on your top 100 most returned products based on volume.
Base Nudges on Reliable Data:
Example: If a product has a 20% return rate and 50% of those returns are due to "too big," only 10% of all orders are impacted. In such cases, a nudge might confuse the majority who had no issue. Use discretion.Write Clear, Actionable Nudges: Use direct language to guide customers, e.g., "Runs large, consider sizing down."
Review and Update Regularly: Monitor return data and refresh your nudges to stay aligned with customer behavior trends.
Note: Contact the yayloh support team to complete your GetNudge setup.
How Do Nudges Appear on Your Shopify Store?
When published, nudges are applied as tags and metafields in Shopify.
To display nudges visibly on your product pages, you will need to add a custom Liquid snippet to your Shopify theme:
Nudge published as tag:
yayloh_size_down
Example nudge text "Runs large, we recommend sizing down."
Location: Nudges appear on the product page, populated from tags or metafields.
Behavior:
If no nudge is created for a product, nothing appears.
If a new nudge is published on a product with an existing nudge, it will overwrite the previous one.
Exporting Nudges for Non-Shopify Stores
For stores not using Shopify:
Select the products you want to create nudges for.
Export nudges as a file (CSV format).
Manually add these nudges to your product pages.
Good to Know:
Products must be imported into yayloh and must have both order and return data to be visible in GetNudge.
GetNudge groups products by product name. When a nudge is published, it is applied to all product IDs associated with that name.
