What's a "Kudos"?

Words of encouragement are motivating! That's why we've created the "Kudos" feature. From the Leaderboard in their interface, students can "Send Kudos" to any other student in the classroom. Please know that these messages are canned or predetermined and students cannot customize them. They are all encouraging phrases, such as "Good Job!" or "You're doing great!" and are meant to inspire one another to work harder. By default, the program will send the "Kudos" to the student directly above them on the Leaderboard, however students can choose whom they would like to sent their Kudos to.

When a student receives Kudos, they will have a heart icon over their Leaderboard crown. This is to notify them that they have a new Kudos.

Then, students can scroll down and view the Kudos already on the screen.

What are the Kudos messages?

See the list below of all the encouraging messages your students can send to one another:

  • Happy to know you!

  • You’re doing a good job!

  • You’re the coolest!

  • You’re the flavor of Awesome!

  • Have a nice day!

  • Welcome to the class!

  • Thanks for being a great friend!

  • Happy birthday!

  • You keep the team moving!

  • You’re amazing!

  • Today is a new day. You’ve got this!

  • Congrats on your Leaderboard Ranking!

  • You are a star!

  • Happy Holidays!

  • I wanted to send you some encouragement!

  • Congratulations!

  • Cheering you on!

  • You are unicorn special!

What If I Don't Want My Students to Send Kudos?

To do this, first, go to your Classes tab on the left-hand side of your dashboard.

Then, select the classroom you'd like to adjust the settings for.

Then, select your SEL (Social Emotional Learning) tab.

Then, select Kudos.

Now, ensure Allow Students to Send Kudos is unchecked. When you're finished, hit Update.
