How your students can set their own keyboarding goals.

If your students are working in any of the Yeti Keyboarding curriculums, it's recommended that they practice for at least 5 minutes per day. Students can take it upon themselves to set a daily goal for themselves to meet, ensuring that they are spending a certain number of minutes typing per day. This is a great way for students to take responsibility for their learning, and a great way to motivate them to extend their time behind the keyboard.

When the students set their goal, the total time spent typing* is recorded and will remind your student when they have reached the time goal.

*Note: The time factored in is only relative to time actually spent typing - not simply having the curriculum open.

Student Perspective

Should a student want to set a goal for themselves, they will first click the tile that corresponds to their Yeti Keyboarding curriculum.

Then, they will select the Set Daily Goal button.

Now, they have the option to select a number of minutes to aim to type for per day. Once they've selected this, they will hit Save.

Now, as the student continues through their curriculum, each lesson will remind them where they are at in meeting their daily goals, and eventually will let them know that they've met it!

How You Can View Goals

We're sure that you're proud of your students for taking this extra step in ensuring they're increasing in ability. So you can see just how hard they're working, you can check this by selecting your Reports tab.

Now, select the Daily Goal Report tab.

You may select the classroom and student(s) you'd like to see goals for. Then, hit Run Report.

Now, you'll see a report that lets you know which date the student has completed their goal, what their goal was, and a medallion icon to let you know if they've reached it.
