Before you can add Slack as a data source, you need to do some setup beforehand.

Steps

1. Connect your Slack account and Yoom Knowledge

Connect your Slack account to Yoom Knowledge by clicking the "Link Account" button.

Select the workspace you want to link and click "Allow".

2. Add Yoom Knowledge app to Slack channel

Click the channel name of the Slack channel you want to integrate and go to "Integrations > Add an app."

Search for "Yoom Knowledge" and click the "Add" button.

Yoom Knowledge will be added to your Slack channel.

3.Register channel ID

You need to register the channel ID of the added channel in Yoom Knowledge.

You can check the channel ID from the Slack URL. For example, in the case of the URL below, "C05HHMVCVMW" will be the channel ID.

Web version

https://app.slack.com/client/T02KTFQ2BTQ/C05HHMVCVMW

App version

https://yoomdemo.slack.com/archives/C05HHMVCVMW

How to get the URL from the app version of Slack

Right-click the corresponding channel name from the left side menu and select "Copy > Copy Link" to get the channel URL. (For the web version of Slack, get the URL from the URL bar.)

Register the obtained channel ID in Yoom Knowledge and click the Finish button.

This completes adding Slack as a data source 🎉
