📝 Overview
A trigger is the method used to start a Flowbot in Yoom.
Yoom provided four types of triggers, including manual launch, allowing you to automate workflows based on different conditions.
🛠️ Types of Triggers & Use Cases
Trigger Type | Description | Use cases |
The Flowbot is started manually by clicking the launch button in Yoom. | When you want to control the timing, such as after reviewing a task.
The Flowbot starts when a response is submitted from a custom web form. | For surveys, inquiries, or workflows triggered by form submissions.
The Flowbot runs at a set date and time. | Automating periodic tasks, such as sending reports every Wednesday at 10 AM.
The Flowbot starts when an email matching set conditions is received at a designated email address. | Sending email notifications to a chat tool when specific emails arrive.
The Flowbot starts when a specified event occurs in another app. | Triggering workflows based on app activities, such as contract signing or a chat post.
The Flowbot starts when a record is added, updated, or deleted in Yoom's database. | Automating actions when new records are added from another app. |
⚠️ Points to Note When Setting Triggers
1️⃣ Enabling a Trigger
Some triggers require you to turn ON a toggle switched after setup.
Once the Flowbot is properly configured and the toggle is turned ON, the trigger becomes active.
2️⃣ When You Cannot Enable a Trigger
You cannot turn the toggle ON in the following cases:
❌ The trigger is set, but no actions (operations) are configured afterward.
❌ The subsequent operations exist but are incomplete.
🎉 That’s it! Now you know how to set up triggers in Yoom.
