Q:

Can you enter numerical data as text in a spreadsheet?

A: Yes, you can.

When you input numerical data into a spreadsheet, it is often automatically recognized as a number rather than text. This can lead to unwanted formatting, such as automatic grouping of numbers with commas.

For example, if you enter an ID list like below, it may be displayed as

  • 1111 → 1,111

  • 2222 → 2,222

  • 3333 → 3,333

Normally, you can avoid the issue by setting the spreadsheet format to 'plain text' before entering the data. However, when you create a new spreadsheet within a Flowbot and input values, this method won't work.

Here's how to resolve it. 💡

🛠️ Configuration Method

You can use this method when entering values into a spreadsheet in the following cases:

  • When entering values into a cell through an action within the Flowbot.

  • When adding or updating records actions within the Flowbot.

To ensure that the values are entered as text, use the formula

=T("1111,2222,3333") when adding the values.

If you are using a retrieved value from previous actions, the format will be =T("##{{●●}}").

🔹 Example 1: Inputting a Value into a Cell

In this case, configure the action within your flow as shown below.

🔹 Example 2: Adding or Updating Records in a Database

You can also apply this method when adding or updating records in the database.

After setting up this function, the values will be inputted as text, and you won't encounter the automatic formatting of numbers with commas.
