📝 Overview

In Slack, you might encounter a situation where the "Send a message to a channel" operation is marked as successful, but the message does not appear in the channel.

🙉 Cause

If the Slack workspace you're connected to does not have the channel ID in the settings page, the operation request may show as successful. However, Slack's specifications prevent the message from being sent, resulting in an error.

💡 How to Resolve

  1. Click the relevant operation and check the name of the Slack workspace you're connected to.

  2. Ensure the channel you're trying to post exists within the connected Slack workspace. If you're unsure which workspace is connected, you can reconnect through the My Apps section in the side menu.

  3. Once you've confirmed the correct Slack workspace, click the Next button at the bottom of the page.

  4. In the Destination Channel ID field, click and wait for the list of suggestions to appear.

  5. Select the correct channel from the suggestions. If it's not listed, this could be because:

    • A different Slack workspace is connected.

    • The channel might be private

  6. Enter the message content and click the Test button.

  7. If the message appears in the correct channel, the procedure is complete.
