📝 Overview

With Yoom, you can post messages to a specific Google Chat space.

This guide will explain how to mention members when sending messages.


✅ Preliminary Steps: Obtain User ID from Google Workspace

To mention a member, you first need to get their User ID from Google Workspace.

⚠️ Note: You must have the necessary permissions to operate Google Workspace.

  1. Navigate to "Integrate with App" select "Google Workspace."

  2. Choose one of the following actions.

    1. Add new user

    2. Search User

  3. Proceed with the setup and click the Test button.

    (The example below shows the "Search for user" screen.)

  4. Confirm the response result displays "Success" and that the User ID field is populated.

  5. Click the Save button to store the User ID.


💬 How to Mention Users in Google Chat

Once the User UD is obtained:

In the "Send a message to a space" action in Google Chat, use the following format to mention a user.

<users/##{{the output name obtained in the preliminary steps}}>

💡 Example

If the output name is → User ID

✔️ Message in Yoom:

 <users/{{User ID}}> Hello, this is a mention!

✔️ Actual Message in Google Chat:

🎉 That’s it!

You’ve successfully sent a message with a mention in Google Chat!
