📝 Overview

With Yoom, you can perform operations on databases such as the Yoom database, Google Spreadsheets, or kintone. These operations let you add, retrieve, and update records (rows).

By default, when you add or update records, the system doesn't automatically retrieve the output. This article will show you how to set up the system to retrieve these outputs when adding or updating records.

🔍 Checking the Specifications

Let’s use Google Sheets as an example to explain how to retrieve outputs.

First, here’s how the current setup works:

Perform a test using the Add Record action, like the one shown below:

After performing the test, you’ll see that the newly added record (highlighted in red below) is not retrieved by default.

This means that you won’t be able to use the output from the record you added or updated in any later operations.

☝️ Note:

Actions that are designed to retrieve data (like retrieving records) will automatically retrieve output.

🛠️ How to Retrieve Output

Now, let’s go over the steps to retrieve outputs after adding or updating records:

  1. Run a Test

First, add or update a record, then confirm it’s been added or updated at least once. After that, click "+Add value to retrieve" at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select the Output Field

Click on "Column name to save", choose the field you want to retrieve as output, and optionally give it a custom name.

  3. Save the Configuration

After setting up the retrieved values, click Save to save your settings.

  4. Retrieve your Output

Once saved, you can retrieve the added outputs in future operations.

By setting this up, you'll be able to use the newly added outputs in future operations.

That’s all! 🎉

That's how to retrieve custom outputs when working with databases.
