How to activate Conditional Call Forwarding on the web

Updated over 3 months ago

To confirm that YouMail is working correctly, you need to ensure you're activated and possibly verify activation. You can do so easily from all of your devices – including your desktop computer or laptop – by visiting the YouMail website.

To activate and verify activation from your computer or laptop and ensure that YouMail is handling your missed calls and voicemails, follow the steps below.

Notes:

  • Manual activation is done for your device (cell phone or landline) by actually calling the activation code provided.

  • Remember to decline the test call or do not answer so that we can detect whether or not your voicemails are forwarded to YouMail.

  • If your test call failed and we were unable to verify activation for your phone, reach out to support and we'll provide instructions to give your carrier.

Log into your YouMail account

If manual verification doesn't work?

  • If manual verification doesn't work, that's ok. You'll need to speak with your carrier to have them enable the setting internally from the network.

  • From the phone lines page, look for "Deposit Number" and write this down or have ready for your carrier.

  • When speaking with your carrier, use the exact script below:

"I want to enable conditional call forwarding (also known as Busy/No Answer/Unavailable Call Forwarding), and have all my unanswered/missed calls forwarded to [REPLACE WITH DEPOSIT NUMBER]."

  • Your carrier will take the deposit number an enable the setting for you.

  • Please ensure that while speaking with your carrier, either they or someone you know test calls you in real time to leave a voicemail.
