How To Report A Number On YouMail

Updated over 4 months ago

YouMail’s Smart Blocking feature prevents robocalls, telemarketers, spammers, and other unwanted calls from getting through to you. If you receive a call from a spammer that was not blocked, you can report it as spam directly from the app. The more reports made against a number, the better we are at identifying similar calls and blocking them. To report a number, follow the instructions below:

Notes:

  • Calls that do not reach your voicemail before the caller hangs up or calls that are answered will not show in your YouMail History tab. You may decline calls from suspected spam callers so they are sent directly to your YouMail voicemail and reflected in your history. There, you may report the number.

  • FOR iOS ONLY - via the native call log, you can also submit a number as safe in the event that it was incorrectly blocked.

For iOS Devices via the App:

  • Open the YouMail App and select the clock icon to open the "Recents" tab (Call History).

  • You can indicate whether or not you provided consent prior to receiving the call.

  • Once you've added the details to the report select the "Mark as Spam" option.

Via the Online Account (YouMail Website):

  • From the online account, a number can be reported via the Inbox (Voicemail > Inbox) or via the Call History (History > Call Log).

  • Select the call that you want to report and click on the number shown below "From".

  • When clicking the number that called, you'll automatically be redirected to the YouMail Directory.

  • The number will be displayed at the top of the screen. If the number was previously reported as spam, a tag titled "Spam Calls Detected" will show in red. If not, then the number hasn't been reported as yet and is still classified as "not spam".

  • Some numbers will also indicate the type of call; Telemarketing, Finance, Customer call, etc. This is a tag that cannot be removed nor edited and is assigned based on the type of calls made from the number in question. This is just additional information provided to the user so they can make an informed decision. This does not automatically indicate that the number is spam.

  • You'll be able to fill out your report under the "Add Your Report" option.

  • Please provide as much information/context as possible.

  • Once done, select "Submit".
