How to Change Your Display Name

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.

  2. Click your profile picture, then click Profile.

  3. Click My profile.
A new web browser window will open where you can edit your name in the Zoom web portal.

  4. By your account profile name, click Edit.

  5. For your account profile name, enter your First Name and Last Name.

  6. For your Display Name, enter a name (for example, your first name, full name, or nickname) that will be shown to others on Zoom.

  7. Click Save.

Troubleshooting Your Microphone

If you are on macOS 10.14 Mojave or earlier and can't access the microphone, check your operating system permissions to confirm that Zoom has access to the microphone. Learn more about granting permissions for the Zoom app.

If you are on Windows 10 and can't access the microphone, use the Windows search bar to navigate to Microphone privacy settings. Enable the Allow apps to access your microphone toggle, and enable access for Zoom. For more information, see Microsoft's troubleshooting instructions.

Troubleshooting Zoom Sign-In Issues

💡 It is not required to create a Zoom account in order to use Zoom. The steps below are only useful if you are using a Zoom account to access your meeting link.

Reset your password to sign in

If you forgot your password, provide the email address you registered with Zoom and reset your password.

Change your sign-in email address

If you can no longer access the email address you registered with Zoom, learn how to change the sign-in email. Zoom recommends setting up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account to add another layer of security.

Use another sign-in method

You can be signed in to Zoom on one computer, one tablet, and one phone at a time. If you sign in from another device of the same type, you will be logged out automatically on the first device.

If you are still unable to sign in, you can also use another sign-in method.
