How to get started

So, where should you begin in YoungCRM? We have created this guide to help you get started with using YoungCRM. The guide will take you through the most basic functions of YoungCRM and link to other, more thorough, guides of each function.

In short, the purpose of YoungCRM is to create forms to add people to your YoungCRM system that you can communicate with at a later stage. All functions are based on the information you collect about people so that you know who they are and what their qualifications are.

Create data fields

It's important to consider what kind of information you want to collect about people. The information is collected through different data fields predefined by YoungCRM or created manually. By clicking here, you can read more in depth about data fields and what types exist in YoungCRM.

It's recommended to create data fields that help you collect information other than that of the existing data fields.

Create a form

When you have created your data fields, you're ready to create forms. It varies from organisation to organisation which forms are necessary. Therefore, you have the opportunity of designing your own personal forms. This could be application forms, sign-up forms for events or newsletters just to mention a few possibilities.

Fill out forms

When you've created your first form, fill it out yourself to see how it works and what people see when they sign up.

Choose [...] and click "Show form"  to view the form you've created.

Set up an automatic email

It's recommended to set up an automatic email that will be sent out to people who fill out a form. The email works as a receipt for those who sign up, and it gives you the opportunity to check if the email has been entered correctly.

Here, you can learn how to create an email. When creating the email, you have to select which form the email should be connected to. In this way, the email will be sent automatically when people sign up.


After creating a form and having set up an automatic email, it would be suitable to take a look at "People". This is where you have an overview of the people who have filled out your forms. Here, you can see information about them and see which form they have used to sign up.

Under "People", it's possible to create segmentations, print information, export information or add labels to the people. You can read more about that here.

A walkthrough of the person card

When clicking on a person in the YoungCRM system you will be shown that person's information. Here, you'll find all the information you have about that specific person. To get an idea of how the person card works, it's a good idea to run through all the tabs.

Communication via email

An important part of YoungCRM is the communication with people and this happens via email. Therefore, it's a great idea to examine the different possibilities of sending out emails by setting up different emails and sending them to yourself to see what you like the most.

Add more users

Often, in an organisation there are various people who need access to YoungCRM. If you're the organisation owner in YoungCRM, you can give other people access to the system.
