Create forms

A form is used to collect people to your organisation's YoungCRM system. The form can be used via YoungCRM or you can embed it directly on to your website or on social medias.
You can design your own forms which gives you full control of the information you want to collect about the people who sign up via forms.

It might be a good idea to follow this guide if it's your first time creating a form.

Forms are used in many situations. For instance, at events, at continuation schools, signing up to newsletters, application forms and much more. It differs from organisation to organisation which forms create the most value.

The example below is of a form to collect sign ups at an event.

If you want to create a new form, go to Forms and click Create form - now, the builder starts.

Name and description

Start by giving your form a name and a description. This will only be shown in YoungCRM and the purpose of this is to be able to distinguish the forms from each other.

Moving on to designing the form. By clicking 'data fields' in the right side, you will have a number of menus to choose from that contain different elements you can use in the form.

  • "Data fields" are the fields you've created yourself
  • "Default fields" are fields that come with YoungCRM
  • "Design" is different visual elements such as text and pictures that you can insert in the form
  • "Advanced" is more advanced fields that you can add to your form

For each field added to the form, there are some editing options. For instance, you can state which fields are required to fill out. You can also add a short description to each field so people know how to fill them out.

Add a logo and a cover photo/color to your form. This is done when creating the form or by selecting standards under Form settings.

NOTE: In YoungCRM, first and last name and email are required in all forms and cannot be removed.

When you've designed your form, click next.

Setup a success page

Next step is to create a success page. This is the page people are shown when they have completed the form correctly.

You'll be asked to give your success page a headline as well as write a message. In addition, you should put some thought into where the person should be redirected to after successfully completing the form. Should they be returned to the form or redirected to the organisation's home page? If you are at an event, it might be a good idea to redirect to the form so others can complete it as well.

Under Advanced settings, you can insert tracking on your success page.

Afterwards, click next.

Add label

You can now choose to add one or more labels to your form. This means that people who sign up via the form will be assigned these labels and that can be used for segmentation later on.

If you're interested in receiving notifications as soon as a person signs up via the form, you can add an email address that will receive these notifications (This step is optional).

Now, the form has been created. You can choose to see the finished form or setup an email that will automatically be sent out to the people who sign up via the form.

You can read more about how to send emails using YoungCRM.
