Step 1: Verify Your Google Analytics ID
Ensure that you have your Google Analytics ID (formatted as UA-XXXXXX-X or G-XXXXXXXX) entered correctly into the YourDriverApp Web Booker settings.
Step 2: Confirm DataLayer Integration
The Web Booker automatically populates the datalayer
with essential data such as pageviews and order details. This is the data that Google Analytics will track, so no additional configuration is needed on this front.
Step 3: Set Up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Universal Analytics
For GA4 Users:
Log into your Google Analytics account.
Select the GA4 property connected to your site.
Navigate to "Admin" and under "Data Streams," select the stream connected to your Web Booker.
Ensure that "Enhanced Measurement" is enabled to track pageviews and other interactions automatically.
For Universal Analytics Users:
Log into Google Analytics.
Go to "Admin" and select the property linked to your Web Booker.
Under "Tracking Info," select "Tracking Code" and verify that your Google Analytics ID is correctly entered.
Step 4: Configure Goals and Events (Optional)
Define custom goals in Google Analytics to track conversions, such as successful bookings or completed orders.
Set up event tracking to capture specific actions like button clicks or form submissions. Since the
datalayer
is already populated, you may just need to create triggers based on this data.
Step 5: Test Your Setup
Use Google Tag Assistant or the GA Debugger extension in your browser to ensure that data is being sent to Google Analytics. Navigate through the Web Booker, placing orders or viewing different pages, and confirm these actions are recorded in your Google Analytics reports.
Step 6: Monitor and Optimize
Regularly check your Google Analytics dashboard to monitor performance and optimize based on the insights gained from the data being tracked.
This setup will enable comprehensive tracking of user interactions and conversions within your Web Booker, giving you actionable insights to improve user experience and marketing strategies.
