Different users will have different expectations about how fast a milestone "should" be paid. Some might expect a milestone to be paid the same day it's posted, while others may feel that there's no reason to pay until a project is fully finished.

In an attempt to respect a freelancer's right to be paid for the work they've done, and to respect the reality that there are many legitimate reasons in life that a client could be delayed, ZehMizeh has settled on the following policy:

Clients are expected to pay a milestone within 14 days of its posting. Since a bi-weekly paycheck is common in many workplaces, we consider this a fair timeline.

It should also be noted that this type of dispute is different from an "unresponsiveness" dispute. An unresponsive client is one who is not communicating at all for at least 14 days. The "tardy" client is still communicating but is simply dragging his feet in paying for the milestone.

Should a freelancer submit a dispute of this type, ZMZ will reach out to the client and try to get clarity on the nature of his delay. If he doesn't produce a compelling reason for his tardiness within a few days, ZMZ will charge him and send the milestone fee to the freelancer. Like all paid milestones, this fee will be non-refundable.
