To work through Zen Educate we're required to see two references from previous employers. These references should cover the last two years. Here are some answers to common questions about references.

I've been at the same school for more than two years, what should I do?

If you've been at the same job for two years or more, we can accept references from two different people from that same employer.

I don't want you to contact my references yet

We will need to contact your references before we can place you in a school, but we understand that you may not be ready to tell your current employers that you're thinking of leaving, or that you might want to contact your referees first.

If this is the case, please do not fill in the references form while registering, and instead send us an email to teachwithus@zeneducate.com to let us know you're not ready to submit your references just yet.

I don't have any references from schools, what can I do?

If you don't have any references from a school setting, we can use references from any other jobs you've had in the last 2 years.

I work through an agency, so I'm not able to provide you with reference details for a school

We're able to accept references from agencies, so you can just pop the contact details of your agency in the references form.

I don't have a reference from the UK as I've been working abroad
If you don't feel you have suitable references to provide then please send your CV to teachwithus@zeneducate.com as this will help us understand who may be able to provide a reference.

I'm providing references, and I'm not sure of the dates I worked with my referee.

If you're unsure of the dates you worked with your referee, please just give us your best estimate. If you're still working with this referee, you can put the current date in the end date field.

If you have any other questions about references, or signing up in general, please get in touch.
