How To Create Matters In ZenCase

Quick Add Matter

There are two ways that you can add a new matter in ZenCase.

The first option is to use the Quick Add "+" icon next to your name in the top navigation menu and select "Matter" from the quick add menu.

Add Matter From Matters List Page

The second option is to go to the Matters list page. From the left navigation, click "Matters" or the briefcase icon.

Once you are on the Matters list page, click the "Add Matter" button.

After you click the add matter button, then you will see a new window which you can fill out your matter information and click "Save"

Please Fill Out The Following Fields To Create A Matter:

  • Matter Name (Required)

  • Search and Select a "Client" from the dropdown. (Required)

  • Search and Select "Matter Type" from the dropdown. (Required)

  • Matter Number is optional
    ​Note: ZenCase will automatically generate a new number if you do not enter a custom number. You can enter a custom matter number if needed.

  • Description is optional

  • Managing Member is set to current user by default. (Required)

After you've successfully created a matter, you should be redirected to the Matter details page where you can view more details about your new matter.



Import Matters for ZenCase Admins

If you are an admin in ZenCase, you also have the ability to import matters into ZenCase via a CSV file.
