ZenCase allows administrators who have access to Firm Settings to create Custom Records. Custom Records are user defined records that are customizable, filterable, and sortable fields displayed in a custom table. Each custom record can be added to a matter. If you set a matter type on a custom record, then the custom record will be added to the matter with that specific matter type by default.
How To Add Custom Records
You can add custom records in ZenCase which will allow you to create a custom record with custom information for each record. A custom record can then be added to a matter.
In the top right corner, click the down arrow next to your name
Select "Firm Settings"
On the Firm Settings page, click on the "Custom Records" tab
Click the "Add Custom Record" button
Enter your custom record name, such as "Record Requests"
On the Custom Record Edit screen, you can select multiple "Matter Types" in which to add this custom record to display by default
Click "Add Field" for each column that will display in your custom record table
Select "Active" to be Yes or No.
Note: Active "Yes" means this field will display in the new/edit form when creating new or editing existing custom records in the Matter. Set the field to "No" to hide the field in the form.
Enter position (optional) for the order in which you want each field to display in the new/edit custom record form.
Enter Field Label. This will also be the column name displayed in the table.
Enter Field Type. This is the data type for the field, such as text, date, number, currency, selection list, etc.
Select "Yes/No" in the Filterable dropdown. This will make the field a filter for the custom records table based on the data type you choose.
Select "Yes/No" in the "Required" dropdown. This will make the field required in the new/edit custom record form.
Enter helper text.
If you selected a field type of "Select List", then you can enter the Select List Options fields. The options are listed as a comma separated list.
Congratulations! You have now created a custom record with custom record fields for your firm.
