Enable LEDES Billing For A Matter
Firm administrators will need to ensure LEDES billing is enabled for your law firm before you can enable LEDES billing for a client. Refer to the guide for Setup LEDES Billing For Your Organization.
Please note that your matter LEDES configuration options will be derived by your client configuration by default. You can choose to override your configuration options at the matter level.
Configure LEDES Billing:
From the left navigation bar, select the "Matters" button.
On the Matters list page, click a matter's name link in the table in the "Matter Name" column. Alternately, select "Edit Matter" under the "Actions" column.
You will be redirected to the matter details page.
On the Matter details page, in the "Billing" top header section, hover over the "LEDES Enabled" section.
Click the "Edit" pencil icon next to "LEDES Enabled".
Select "Yes" from the dropdown.
Click "Save".
You will see new options appear for LEDES settings.
Next to "LEDES Client/Matter ID", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Enter LEDES client/matter id and click "Save"
Next to "Require UTBMS Codes", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Select "Yes" and click "Save" to enforce users to enter codes when entering time or expenses into the system.
Next to "LEDES Expense Codeset", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Select "LEDES Expense Codeset" from dropdown options. The default is the Firm Settings configured LEDES codeset default.
You can override the default option for a specific client by choosing a new option.
Click "Save"
Next to "LEDES Activity Codeset", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Select "LEDES Activity Codeset" from dropdown options. The default is the Firm Settings configured LEDES codeset default.
Click "Save"
Next to "LEDES Task Codeset", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Select "LEDES Task Codeset" from dropdown options. The default is the Firm Settings configured LEDES codeset default.
Click "Save"
Next to "LEDES Timekeeper Codeset", click the "Edit" pencil icon.
Select "LEDES Timekeeper Codeset" from dropdown options. The default is the Firm Settings configured LEDES codeset default.
Click "Save"
Congratulations! You have now enabled and configured LEDES billing for your matter.
