šŸ“£ Release news 02/01/'25: Blazor-betašŸ“£

Everything You Need to Know About the New Front End in Zero Friction

Updated over 9 months ago

Curious about what Blazor, beta, and interface mean? We’ll explain it for you:

  • Blazor is the project name for Zero Friction's new layout. You’ll soon enjoy a fresh, improved interface that makes your experience even more efficient.

    • The interface or frontend is simply how Zero Friction looks and how you interact with it.

    • The backend processes your data.

    • The frontend displays that data visually.

With the Blazor migration, mainly the appearance of your environment will change, but your data will remain unchanged.

  • Beta: A beta version is a trial version that’s nearly finished but still being tested. Why are you getting early access?

Your feedback helps us detect and fix minor bugs faster before the official launch.

What Does This Mean for You?

The interface you’re using will soon look slightly different.

This update will provide a faster, more intuitive experience and prepare Zero Friction for future improvements.

For Now, You Can Choose:

šŸ‘‰ Stick with the current interface, or
šŸ‘‰ Switch to the new Blazor interface and explore the new features right away.

You can always switch back to the old interface if you prefer.

Since a new environment can take some getting used to, we’ve outlined everything you need to get started smoothly. šŸš€

How to Switch?

It’s simple! Just update the URL you use to access Zero Friction.

For example:
heat.zerofriction.co/demo/heu
becomes
app.zerofriction.co/demo/heu

šŸ’” Set the new URL as your favorite to always use the new interface.

Features

Navigation in Zero Friction

Dashboard

The dashboard now has its own button in the navigation bar on the right side of the screen, making it easier to return to the global overview.

Navigation Bar

The navigation bar has been updated and is now collapsible. Not sure which icon to click? The navigation bar will expand to show the full entity name.

Location Groups

The button for location groups has been removed from the navigation bar. You can now find it under Locations, where you can adjust the view to location groups.

Jobs

Import and export jobs are now grouped under a single category called Jobs, keeping everything neat and organized.

Tasks Are Now Move Requests

The Tasks button is no longer available. All move-in and move-out requests are now listed under Move Requests for clarity.

Dark Mode

Give your eyes a break! Switch to Dark Mode by clicking on your initials in the top right corner and toggling the Dark Mode slider.

List Pages

Action Buttons

Looking for the action button? Try selecting a few items.

  • Specific actions will now appear when you make a selection in the list view.

  • Performing a bulk action? Zero Friction will indicate how many rows the action will apply to.

  • General actions like adding a customer, location, contract, or meter are now always at the top, with secondary actions next to them.

Filters

  • When you apply a filter, you’ll now see how many filters are active.

Activity Feed

  • Changes in the activity feed are now ordered with the most recent actions at the top. You’ll also see the full date of when an action was performed.

Customer Balance

  • The customer balance is now displayed more clearly with different colors, providing better insight into the customer’s debit or credit status.

Location Management

  • You can now edit a location’s address directly by clicking on the location. Furthermore, you can now delete a location address if they are not linked to anything by clicking on the action button.

Billing Insights

In the Billing Insights tab of contracts, you can find an overview of the billing period with estimated invoices.

  • The sidebar with invoice info now includes a PDF tab where you can view the invoice.

  • If the invoice status is pending or if information is missing, the sidebar will display Estimated Invoice. Once generated, the tab will be labeled Invoice.

  • Inclusive/exclusive VAT is now displayed.

  • PDFs are displayed immediately upon creation.

Configuration

The settings of your Zero Friction account are now easier to configure with the improved interface. You can find all configuration screens in a new, organized list.

General settings for each category are now under Preferences, allowing you to personalize your Zero Friction account.

Billing

  • The Billing tab is now a separate category in the list view, containing invoicing preferences and all product-related settings.

  • Some preferences from the Billing tab have been moved to the Billing or Payments categories.

Products

The navigation for products has been removed. Everything related to products can now be found under Billing.

  • New layout: We now use tables instead of clickable cards, but the concept remains the same.

  • The dialog for adding invoicing items has been simplified:

    • Setting the frequency now happens in the right column.

    • The order of invoicing items can be adjusted directly in the list.

    • Tariffs are easier to configure as the separate editor page has been removed; everything is done in the right column. You can now also Export and Import a list of tariffs.

Payments

Some preferences from Configuration > Billing have been moved here. You’ll now find payment collection settings under Payments, along with redesigned preferences for more detailed information.

Metering

Meter validations can now be found as a card under Preferences.

Communication

Preview invoices scenario’s

Thanks to this feature, you can view invoices in different scenarios before sending them out. This way you immediately know what an invoice looks like if, for example, the customer still has an outstanding balance in their favor.

When you now go to Configuration>Communication>Templates, you can click on ā€œChangeā€ at PDF for invoices.

Here you will now be in the preview view of an invoice. Here you can set up different scenarios. These are immediately shown in the preview. Also easily switch from type of invoice at the top and between PDF and Email.
