The Time Tracking Workflow
The Time Tracking process generally follows this workflow:
Employee → Clock In → Work → Break (optional) → Resume Work → Clock Out → Timesheet Entry Created
Employee clocks in
The employee selects a project or company task and taps Clock In to begin recording their work session.Work session begins
While clocked in, the system tracks the duration of the employee’s work on the selected project or task.Employee takes a break (optional)
If the employee takes a lunch or break, they can start a break session from the Time Tracking interface. During this time, the system records the break separately from working time.Employee resumes work
After the break ends, the employee can continue working. Depending on the situation, they may:Resume work on the same project, or
Start working on another project they are assigned to.
Employee clocks out
When the employee finishes their work session for the day or task, they tap Clock Out to stop recording time.Time entry is created
Once the employee clocks out, ZevBit automatically saves the recorded session, including work periods and breaks.
This entry includes details such as the employee, the associated project or task, and the total time worked.
How Time Tracking Connects to Other Areas of ZevBit
Time Tracking works alongside several other areas of the system to organize and display recorded work time.
Job Costing
Employees clock in to specific projects or tasks. This allows the system to track how much time is spent working on each job.
Teams
Employees belong to crews or teams within the company. Time Tracking records help track work activity across different team members.
Timesheets
After a work session is completed, the recorded time appears in the employee’s timesheet, where work hours and breaks can be reviewed.
