Subcontractors

How to add subs

Written by ZevBit Software

Overview

The Subs (Subcontractors) tab in the Catalog allows users to define the services or materials provided by subcontractors.

It is important to understand:

  • Subcontractors (people/companies) are added from the Teams page

  • What they provide (services/materials) is managed in the Settings → Catalog → Subs tab

This separation helps organize:

  • Who is doing the work (Teams)

  • What work or service they provide (Catalog)

To access the Subs tab, go to Settings → Catalog, click on the Subs tab

    • Search by:

      • Category name

      • Service/material name

  • Add Category Button

How Subs Catalog is Used

While creating an estimate:

  • Users select services from this Subs catalog

  • These services are then:

    • Assigned to subcontractors (from Teams)

    • Used in cost calculations

Important Note

  • Adding subcontractors in Teams does NOT automatically add their services

  • Services must be defined separately in the Catalog → Subs tab

Summary

The Subs tab helps users:

  • Define subcontractor services

  • Organize work into categories

  • Standardize pricing for subcontracted work

  • Use structured services in estimates
