Line items are the building blocks of your estimate. This is where the actual scope takes shape, each line item defines a service, material, labor cost, or any other item that will be included in your proposal. As you add line items, the total price updates automatically.

Before You Add Your First Line Item

When you're ready to start building, you have two options:

  • Blank Line Item β€” build it manually from scratch. Best when you have a custom service or item that isn't in your template library.

  • Select From Templates β€” add a prebuilt estimate item from your template library. Best for services you do regularly, since templates come pre-populated with materials, labor, and pricing logic.

Not sure which to use? If you're just getting started, try a template first β€” it's faster and shows you how a fully built line item is structured.
