The Excavation / Demo tab is where you control whether demolition or excavation work is included in a line item. The selections you make here directly affect the material and labor costs of the estimate.

Use this when the project includes site preparation, demolition, removal, or dirt handling.

Steps

  1. Open the estimate and click into the line item you want to configure

  2. Click the Excavation / Demo tab

  3. Under Include Excavation / Demo? select the type that applies to your project from the dropdown. Options include:

    • None

    • Sod / Grass

    • Concrete – 4" Thick W/ Machine

    • Concrete – 6–8" Thick W/ Machine

    • Concrete – 10"+ Thick W/ Machine

    • Pavers

    • Sideyard

    • Misc Landscaping

  4. Under Import Dirt? select the dirt import option that applies, or click + Add to enter a custom dirt import entry manually

  5. Review the updated cost and labor totals before moving to the next tab

Note: Each selection automatically adjusts the material quantities and labor costs for this line item. If none of the preset options fit your project, you can add a custom entry manually using the + Add button.
