Create a dropdown field and use it to show or hide another field in the estimate. For example, create an "Include Paint" dropdown with Yes/No options, then use that selection to control whether a "Square Feet of Paint" field appears.
Note: Hidden fields may still appear while in Edit Mode, but they stay hidden in the estimate until the condition is met.
How it works
First, you create a dropdown element with selectable options. Then you create the dependent field and add a conditional rule tied to the dropdown. When the dropdown matches the condition, the dependent field appears. When it doesn't, the field stays hidden.
Setting it up
Open the estimate and enter Edit Mode
Click + Add Element and create a field called "Include Paint"
Set the type to Dropdown
Add the options Yes and No, and choose a default value if needed
Add the dependent field — e.g., "Square Feet of Paint"
On the dependent field, click Set up conditional rules
Set the rule to: Include Paint = Yes
Click Save
Test the result
Select No in the Include Paint dropdown → Square Feet of Paint stays hidden
Select Yes → Square Feet of Paint appears
Video Overview
In this video, you will learn how to create a dropdown field, add selectable options, and use a conditional rule to show or hide another field based on the user’s selection.
What Happens Next
Once saved, the estimate only shows the extra field when the dropdown condition is met. This keeps templates cleaner and easier to complete.
