Steps
1. Click View & Send Proposal
Open the completed estimate and click View & Send Proposal.
2. Choose a payment terms template
Use the dropdown at the top to select an existing payment terms template.
This is useful if you want to save different payment setups for different types of jobs, such as landscaping, hardscaping, or pool projects.
3. Turn the deposit option on or off
Use the Deposit toggle to decide if the proposal should include a deposit payment.
You can turn it on if you want the client to pay a deposit, or turn it off if you do not need one.
4. Choose Percentage or Price
You can set the payment terms by:
Percentage
Price
Use Percentage if you want each stage to be based on a percent of the total job amount.
Use Price if you want to enter fixed dollar amounts instead.
5. Add and edit payment stages
You can split the project into multiple payment stages.
For each stage, you can:
change the name
enter the percentage or price
adjust it based on your workflow
For example, you might create a deposit, a payment when the project starts, another payment during the project, and a final payment at the end.
6. Add or remove stages
Click Add New to create another payment stage.
If you want fewer stages, click the trash icon to remove one.
This allows you to build the payment plan in two, three, four, or more stages depending on the job.
7. Make sure the total is complete
Before saving, make sure the Total Percentage is 100%.
The Remaining Amount should show $0.
Note: If the total is not complete, you will need to adjust the payment stages before continuing.
8. Save the payment terms
Once everything looks correct, click Save.
If you want to reuse the same setup in the future, you can also click Save As Default.
