How to Use Optional Items and Selection Options

J
Written by Jorge Arias Silva

Optional items let clients choose which services or upgrades they want to include in the proposal. This gives them more flexibility while keeping the estimate accurate. It also helps you avoid creating and sending two or more separate estimates, since multiple options can be included in a single proposal.

Steps

  1. Open the estimate and click into the line item you want to make optional

  2. In the line item editor, look for the optional item setting and enable it

  3. The line item will appear in the proposal with a selection option the client can toggle on or off

  4. In the proposal settings, make sure the relevant toggles are enabled so the optional items are visible to the client

Video Overview

This video shows how to use Optional Items in an estimate so clients can choose the services or upgrades they want included in the proposal. It also covers how to enable the optional item setting and make sure the right proposal options are turned on so those selections appear correctly for the client.
