Once you are done setting up your account you can begin listing your items. It is better to focus on one niche instead of listing random items from different categories. For example, instead of selling random sports equipment, it can be more beneficial to focus on a single category like golf equipment.

Specializing in a single niche helps build your brand, increases trust among your customers, and allows you to rank high in search results for your niche.

Look for a Place to Source Products From

Once you have made up your mind on what to sell it’s time you find a reliable source to start buying products from. You can start your warehouse and fill it with items you bulk buy from local stores or choose a dropshipping source like Alibaba or AliExpress.

If you are just starting, you may also find it helpful to list unnecessary items that you already have lying around at your house. You will be surprised to find how many items you have at home that you have no use for.

Decide Which Product to List

You must make sure that your item has potential and that people are actively searching for and buying similar products. Zik Analytics can help you figure out the potential of your product and help you decide whether you should list the item in your store.

Go to the Zik Analytics dashboard and click on the Product Research icon from the toolbox on the left.

Type in the name of your product, set any filters you want then click on the Search button.

Zik Analytics will show you all the relevant information relating to your product like the Sell-through rate, Listing, Sold items, Sale Earnings, and more. This information will help you determine the demand for your product and understand the competition in that niche.

The pie chart will show the most popular users that are dominating the market for your searched product. Meanwhile, the point graph shows you how many sales were made each day.

If you scroll down a bit more you will find a list of all the items that are currently listed on eBay. Find the item that resembles your product most and check out its price, title, and other details. This will help you create your listing and price your product right once you are ready to sell.

You can also search for your product on eBay.com and find similar products, in case you want some inspiration for the images, description, and title. Make sure you set the Used filter if you are selling a used item.
