Once you have figured out what you want to sell, it’s time to put it out there. The presentation of your product is just as important, if not more important, than the quality of your product. Since customers can only judge your product from the listing they see online, it is important you properly optimize your product.

Optimizing your product listing also helps you rank higher on eBay search results and gives your store a more professional look. You need to make sure you have an adequate title, high-quality images, and a detailed description.

Create Winning Product Titles

Your title is one of the first things that a user sees on your listing. It also dramatically impacts how eBay ranks your product in search results. The title not only needs to be descriptive but also SEO optimized.

Meaning, it must contain the correct keywords that users typically search by when they want to buy similar products. Zik Analytics has a built-in Title Builder tool that can help you create winning titles that rank high in search results.

To create a high-performing title, go to Zik Analytics and click on the Title Builder icon from the toolbox on the left. Now, type in a generic name for your product and let Zik Analytics do the magic.

You can now see a list of Long Tail Keyword Ideas and Generic Keyword Ideas. Long Tail Keywords are specific keyword combinations that buyers commonly search for. Simply click on any keyword and it will automatically be copied into the text field at the top. Rearrange the title as per your liking and also, be mindful of the remaining characters that are visible under the text field.

The strategy is to look for the number of sales in the long tail keyword also, make sure your title contains keywords that are relevant to the product. For example, you shouldn’t have the keyword “football” in a golf-related product as that can be misleading and negatively affect your product’s performance.

Once you are done simply copy the title and paste it into the Item title field on your eBay listing.

Item Details and Pricing

Scroll down further and fill in all the information about your product like Brand, Type, Style, Material, and more. Try not to leave anything out and be as descriptive as possible. You can also add more variations to your product in case you have different colors or sizes available.

Once you are done adding details, it’s time to add a description. If you have no idea where to start you can search for the product on eBay and copy/paste the description from a similar product.

You can then fine-tune this description to match your needs or even write a completely new one. Just remember to add as much detail as possible like item dimensions, color, type, and more.

Now, it’s time to price your product. Make sure you are accurately pricing your product based on similar products in the market. Setting a price too high will scare away the customers, while very low prices will mean you don’t make any profits.

You have two options for pricing format; Auction and Buy It Now. For the Auction mode, you can set a minimum bid and a time limit for the listing to expire. The Buy It Now mode sets a fixed price for the product.

Furthermore, you can also set an optional Buy It Now price for the Auction mode which will immediately end the auction if the customer agreed on the Buy Now price. You also have a Reserve Price to set the lowest possible price in case the listing expires at a very low price.
