Simple answer: You cannot go over your Estimated Spending Power*.

Your Zip App Estimated Spending Power* can be found in the top right corner of your Zip App under “Spending Power.”

If your Virtual Card’s Purchase Request is too high, and above your Zip App Estimated Spending Power*, the purchase will not be approved by Zip.

If you try to charge your Zip Virtual Card more than the amount entered when creating your Purchase Request, the transaction will be declined in the merchant’s system.

If you currently have Open orders in Zip’s system and to restore your Estimated Spending Power*, please try paying off any outstanding installments before attempting the purchase request again.

*Spending power is the estimated amount you have left to spend on Zip app orders. Your spending power is not guaranteed and is impacted by a number of factors, such as your payment behavior and how long you've used Zip. Your spending power is not an open line of credit. Each transaction is separately reviewed for approval.
