Attachments make it easy to share important files, documents, images and videos. Whether you're sending contracts, product brochures or how-to videos, attachments help you get information across quickly. In ZipLeads, you can add attachments to emails and SMS, and use the media library, so sharing files works smoothly across your channels.

What Are Attachments?

Attachments let you send and receive files within Conversations. This makes it easy to share documents, images or videos with your clients. In ZipLeads, you can upload attachments straight from your device or pick them from the media library. Files sent by SMS, or email files over the 20MB limit, are automatically uploaded to the media library and shared as links. This means your files still get delivered, even when they're large.

Key Benefits of Attachments

  • Better communication: Share contracts, images, videos and PDFs to make your messages more useful.

  • Flexible upload options: Upload attachments from your device or pick files already stored in the media library.

  • Automatic media library uploads: If a file is over the email size limit (20MB) or is sent by SMS, it's automatically uploaded to the media library and shared as a link.

  • Engaging email thumbnails: Videos uploaded through the media library automatically get a GIF thumbnail, making your emails more eye-catching.

How to Use Attachments

You can add attachments in Conversations in just a few steps. Whether you're sending images, PDFs or videos, you can upload from your device or pick a file from the media library. Here's how to add and manage attachments.

Open Conversations

Go to the Conversations tab in ZipLeads. Then select an existing conversation or start a new message with a contact.

Attach a File to a Message

Click the paperclip icon in the SMS or email composer to open the attachment options. Choose a file from your device, or select one from the media library if you've uploaded it before. Once selected, the file is attached to your message and ready to send.

Paste Attachments from Your Clipboard

You can also attach files by pasting them straight into the message composer.

  1. Copy a supported file or image on your computer. Click inside the message composer for any supported channel (such as SMS, email or WhatsApp).

  2. Press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac).

  3. The pasted file appears as an attachment automatically.

Note: Clipboard attachments follow the same file type and size limits as other attachments in Conversations.

Choose an Upload Method

Upload from Device: Select a file from your computer or device (for example, images, PDFs or videos).

Use the Media Library: If you've uploaded a file before, select it from the media library so you don't need to upload it again.

Automatic Media Library Uploads

If you upload an SMS attachment, or an email attachment larger than 20MB, ZipLeads automatically moves the file to the media library.

Instead of attaching the file directly, a media library link is added to the message. This makes sure the file is delivered without size limits getting in the way.

Interactive Video Thumbnails

Videos uploaded through the media library automatically get a GIF thumbnail preview.

These animated previews make your emails more engaging and encourage people to check out the content.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of files can I upload as attachments?

You can upload images, documents, PDFs and videos. Email attachments are limited to 20MB. Larger files are automatically moved to the media library and shared as a link.

Q: How can I find my uploaded files in the media library?

All uploaded files are automatically stored in the media library, which you can open from Conversations. This lets you reuse files you've already uploaded without attaching them again.

Q: What happens if my attachment is over the email size limit?

If an attachment is over 20MB, it's automatically uploaded to the media library and a link to the file is added to the email. This means large files can still be shared without delivery problems.

Q: Can I send attachments by SMS?

Yes. Because SMS has size limits, files are automatically turned into media library links so they're delivered smoothly.

Q: How do interactive video thumbnails work?

When you upload a video through the media library, ZipLeads automatically creates a GIF thumbnail preview. This makes your emails more eye-catching and encourages people to watch the video.
