Sender Preferences let you save default sender details for new email campaigns and test sends. These include Sender Name, Sender Email, Test Recipient(s) and Custom Reply. They cut down on repetitive setup, and you can still change the sender details for any individual campaign when you need to.
What You'll Learn
How Sender Preferences work, how to set default sender and test-recipient details, how those defaults apply to new campaigns, and how sender verification affects campaign sending.
What Are Sender Preferences?
Sender Preferences are defaults for your account. They're used when you create new email campaigns and test sends. They can fill in the Sender Name, Sender Email, Test Recipient(s) and Custom Reply fields for you, and you can still change them for each campaign.
Sender Preference Fields
Each field controls a different part of sending or testing. Only set the defaults you want ZipLeads to fill in when you create new campaigns or send tests.
Sender Name
The name recipients see as the sender of the email. Use a recognisable business, brand or team name.
Sender Email
The email address recipients see in the From field. Use a valid sender address and complete any verification ZipLeads asks for before sending.
ZipLeads may ask you to verify your From Email before you can use it in an email campaign. Sender-domain requirements can also differ depending on whether your account uses a shared domain, a dedicated ZipLeads Email domain or another email provider.
Important: A saved Sender Email doesn't skip sender-domain checks. Review any verification, domain or deliverability warnings shown when you send or schedule the campaign.
Test Recipient(s)
Add up to 5 email addresses, separated by commas, to use as default recipients for test emails. These could be team, QA or stakeholder inboxes used to review campaigns before sending.
Custom Reply
Enter a different email address if you want replies to go somewhere other than the Sender Email. If you leave it blank, replies follow the usual default reply behaviour.
Note: Where the tag icon is available, you can use supported custom values instead of fixed sender details.
How to Configure Sender Preferences
Set up Sender Preferences once, and they'll fill in sender and testing details when you create new email campaigns and test sends.
Go to Marketing → Emails → Campaigns.
Click the Settings gear icon.
Select Sender Preferences.
Enter the default Sender Name.
Enter the default Sender Email.
Add up to five Test Recipient(s) if needed.
Enter a Custom Reply address if replies should go somewhere different.
Click Save.
How Sender Preferences Are Applied
Sender Preferences are starting values for new email campaigns and test sends. They don't replace sender details already saved in existing drafts or scheduled campaigns.
You can still change the sender details for an individual campaign when you need to.
Cloned campaigns: A cloned campaign keeps the sender details saved in the original campaign. It doesn't pick up your updated Sender Preferences. Check the sender details after cloning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will changing Sender Preferences update existing drafts or scheduled campaigns?
No. Updated Sender Preferences apply to new campaigns and test sends. Existing drafts and scheduled campaigns keep their saved sender details unless you update them yourself.
Q: Can I override Sender Preferences for a specific campaign?
Yes. Sender Preferences are defaults. You can change the sender details for an individual campaign when needed.
Q: Can the Custom Reply address be different from the Sender Email?
Yes. Reply-To doesn't depend on the sender domain, so it can be a different valid email address.
Q: Does the Sender Email need to be verified?
Email campaigns need a valid, verified From address. If the address isn't already trusted through your account's email setup, ZipLeads may ask you to verify it before sending.
